The Ravens were missing starting defensive tackle Haloti Ngata during Wednesday’s practice, as the 6-foot-4, 345-pound lineman is recovering from an ankle injury suffered last Sunday against the Denver Broncos.
He was joined by five other Ravens that were held out.
Ngata hurt his ankle in the third quarter of Baltimore’s 30-7 win and was seen wearing a boot in the locker room after the game. His status for this weekend’s matchup with the Cincinnati Bengals is still uncertain.
“I’m anticipating Haloti is getting ready to play against the Bengals,” said head coach John Harbaugh. “It’s a sprained ankle. We’re hopeful that he’ll be there, and there’s a good chance he will. If not, someone else will play.”
The Ravens were also missing linebacker Prescott Burgess (illness), long snapper Matt Katula (elbow), safety Haruki Nakamura (chest), cornerback Frank Walker (illness) and safety Tom Zbikowski (illness).
Meanwhile, tight end Todd Heap (ankle) and fullback Le’Ron McClain (shoulder) were limited in Wednesday’s session. Linebacker Jarret Johnson (shoulder) was a full participant.
For the Bengals, fullback Jeremi Johnson (knee) and safeties Tom Nelson (shoulder) and Roy Williams (forearm) were limited, and running back Bernard Scott (knee) and offensive tackle Andre Smith (foot) fully practiced.
