“I like the schedule,” nose tackle Terrence Cody said the day after it was released. “It’s a tough schedule, but we’re a tough team and we like schedules like that.”

“We feel like we’ve got a good schedule for building a championship,” tight end Ed Dickson said. “We play every good team in the NFL. We get to see the league’s best, so we’ll see what our team is made of.”

The game that caught players’ attention is the first one, opening up with the AFC North rival Cincinnati Bengals at home on Monday Night Football.

Late last night, outside linebacker Paul Kruger tweeted, “MNF against cinci… Not a bad way to start the season.”

“It’s motivation,” Dickson said. “We play on Monday Night Football, we play a division opponent. We usually rise to the occasion when we play a division opponent at the start of the season.”

The Ravens have opened the season against Pittsburgh, Cincinnati or Cleveland seven times in franchise history. They are 3-4 in those games.

But they are 2-0 in season-openers against division opponents under Head Coach John Harbaugh. Baltimore beat Cincinnati, 17-10, in Week 1 in 2008. They routed the Steelers, 35-7, to kick off last season.

Baltimore has gone to the playoffs four straight years, the longest active streak in the NFL. The Ravens were 11-5 in 2008, 9-7 in 2009 and 12-4 the past two seasons.

Will their playoff run continue?
