The NFL schedule is set to come out within the next couple of weeks and to get you ready, BaltimoreRavens.com staff writers Ryan Mink and Garrett Downing have put together their own mock schedules.

The opponents listed are the teams the Ravens will play, but the dates and times are unknowns at this point. Thus, they are basing their predictions based on a few different parameters:

  • The Baltimore Orioles’ schedule in September
  • Marquee matchups that may appeal to larger audiences in the afternoon or prime time
  • Breaking up home versus road games
  • Spacing out long trips
  • The bye coming anywhere between Weeks 5 and 9
  • The league’s rule of having divisional games in the final two weeks of the season

So what do you think will happen? What would you like to see? Leave your comments below.

Ryan’s Take: Owner Steve Bisciotti and Head Coach John Harbaugh have been pushing for a home Monday Night Football game and they get a big one with the Pats in an AFC championship rematch. Besides that, imagine future Redskins quarterback RG3 vs. the Ravens defense to see if the tide will turn in the D.C., Maryland, Virginia area. Peyton Manning comes back to Baltimore as a Bronco? It’s too good to pass up for the NFL Network. And of course, an AFC North run capped off by the Steelers will decide the division champ. Writing this makes me further realize how brutal the schedule is…

Garrett’s Take: This schedule would set up another exciting season all the way to the finish, with the AFC North title and playoff implications coming down to a regular-season finale in Pittsburgh. The schedule also puts the Ravens on the biggest stages for some of their marquee games, giving Baltimore prime-time matchups against the Steelers (twice), Giants and Patriots. It also gives Ravens fans something they’ve wanted for years: a Monday Night Football game at M&T Bank Stadium.
