Ray Lewis is taking his legendary pregame speeches on the road.

Lewis gave the Stanford Cardinal men’s basketball team a rousing speech before its NIT semifinal against Massachusetts Tuesday night at Madison Square Garden.

After slapping hands with all the players, Lewis went right into his impassioned talk.

“If tomorrow wasn’t promised, what would you give for today?” he said to start.

Give the rest of the speech a look. By the end of it, the mesmerized Stanford players were clearly ready to go.

They ended up beating UMass, 74-64, to reach tonight’s NIT final against Minnesota.

It’s not clear what connection Lewis has to Stanford men’s basketball. The Cardinals’ head coach is former Duke and NBA legend Johnny Dawkins.

Ravens Head Coach John Harbaugh also gave a pregame basketball speech recently.

His was to Indiana before its NCAA men’s Sweet 16 game against top-seeded Kentucky last Friday night. Harbaugh’s brother-in-law, Tom Crean, is the head coach at Indiana.

Harbaugh told the players to give the Wildcats a “face full of red.” Indiana went on to lose, 102-90, and Harbaugh left highly impressed by Kentucky.
