The NFL has announced plans to conduct regional scouting combines leading up to the 2012 NFL draft, and one of the combines will be held at the Ravens training facility in Owings Mills.

The combine in Baltimore will be one of eight regional combines around the country, which will be held in addition to the annual national scouting combine held each year in Indianapolis. The national combine will be held at Lucas Oil Stadium Feb 22-28.

The regional combines will be conducted for players eligible for the 2012 draft, but who are not invited to the national combine. Also, players with some professional experience, but who have been out of the game for a period of time, will be eligible to compete.

“The NFL Regional Combines program provides players – who may not have had the chance before – the opportunity to work out for NFL personnel executives,” NFL Executive Vice President of Football Operations Ray Anderson said in a release. “It allows all 32 clubs a chance to further evaluate future prospects.”

All of the combines, with the exception of the one in Los Angeles, will be held at NFL team facilities.

Players that compete in the regional combines may then be invited to attend the Super Regional Combine in Detroit on March 30-31. Players interested in registering for a regional combine can do so here:
