The Baltimore Ravens will be without linebacker Ray Lewis for the first time since 2007.

The veteran linebacker is inactive for Sunday’s game against the Cincinnati Bengals with a foot injury, ending his current streak of playing in 57 games in a row.

Lewis currently leads the Ravens with 68 tackles and has been a fixture in the Ravens’ defense for 16 seasons. He has missed 30 games during that time, including 11 in 2002 and 10 in 2005.

With Lewis out, the Ravens will turn to third-year linebacker Dannell Ellerbe, who will start at middle linebacker. Special teams ace Brendon Ayanbadejo could also see time at linebacker.

Ellerbe returns to the lineup after missing four straight games with a hamstring injury.

“It’s going to take three or four of us to replace on Ray Lewis, but we’re up to the task,” Ayanbadejo said on Friday.

Veteran wide receiver Lee Evans is active Sunday for the first time since Week 2. He had missed seven straight games with an ankle injury, and the Ravens are hoping he can provide a boost to the offense.

Evans practiced in a limited capacity for the last two weeks and it is unclear if he will start as the number two wide receiver over rookie Torrey Smith.

The inactives for Baltimore are wide receivers David Reed and Tandon Doss, cornerback Chykie Brown, running back Anthony Allen, linebacker Sergio Kindle and defensive lineman Arthur Jones.

Reed had been the starting kick returner before fumbling twice last weekend against Seattle.

The Bengals will be without rookie wide receiver A.J. Green, who leads the team in receiving yards, receptions and touchdowns. Green hyperextended his knee in last week’s game against Pittsburgh.

Andre Caldwell will play in place in Green. The last time Cincinnati faced the Ravens, Caldwell caught seven passes for 94 yards.

The other inactive players for Cincinnati are safety Robert Sands, linebacker Dontay Moch, guard Clint Boling, offensive tackle Anthony Collins, tight end Donald Lee and wide receiver Ryan Whalen.
