Ravens Aren’t Licking Any Wounds

Baltimore still has its season goals well within reach. No AFC team has fewer losses.

The Ravens were frustrated, they were hurt after Sunday’s deflating 22-17 loss in Seattle.

That’s when Head Coach John Harbaugh gathered his players and put things in perspective.

The Ravens’ goals are still all well within reach with seven games remaining.

No other team in the AFC has fewer losses than the Ravens’ three – not the New England Patriots, not the Pittsburgh Steelers, not the Houston Texans.

The Ravens aren’t the only team that’s had ups and downs.

“We’re not licking any wounds,” Harbaugh said. “We are moving on.”

That process began on the four-hour plane ride back to Baltimore, in which Harbaugh said every single player that he saw was on his iPad watching the game and starting to talk it through.

“This is a bunch of pros,” Harbaugh said. “They work very hard at it, they take a lot of pride in what they do. That was a disappointing loss, like I said. But, they will put it behind them.”

On Monday afternoon, outside linebacker Terrell Suggs tweeted, “Ya’ll good charm city???? My feelings are hurt too. But remember an NFL season is a marathon, Not a sprint.”

The Ravens had the same record through Week 10 last year – 6-3.

They finished by winning six of their last seven games to finish 12-4, but were denied the division championship through tiebreakers. Baltimore finished with the same overall record as Pittsburgh and had a series split, but lost out because of a worse divisional record.

The Ravens are a half-game behind the Steelers, who are just now having their bye, in the AFC North this year. If they pull even, they’re essentially ahead considering they own the tiebreaker after getting the series sweep.

“It’s not the end of the world,” Suggs said. “We’re just going to learn from here, and however we’ve got to go do it, that’s what we’re going to go do.”
