Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco likely won’t care, but he was named the FedEx Air Player of the Week after his performance in St. Louis.

Flacco passed for a career-high 389 yards and three touchdowns in the Ravens’ 37-7 win over the Rams. He completed 27 passes in a career-high 48 attempts.

The Ravens’ fourth-year quarterback led all signal callers in passing yards in Week 3.

After the game, Head Coach John Harbaugh said Flacco did a great job calling audibles. He also established a connection with rookie wide receiver Torrey Smith, hitting him for three scores in the first quarter.

“We did a great job of making sure everybody was able to go out there and give everybody an opportunity to make plays with the football,” Flacco said Wednesday.

“I think if we can continue to do that, get our playmakers, get those guys in one-on-one matchups, I think that is the key – getting all those guys one-on-one matchups and letting them make plays.”

Flacco beat out the New York Giants’ Eli Manning and Tennessee Titans’ Matt Hasselbeck for the award.

Raiders guard Stefen Wisniewski beat out Smith for the Pepsi NFL Rookie of the Week honors. Oakland piled up 234 rushing yards on the New York Jets.
