While the Ravens will wear their white jerseys this weekend when they begin the regular season against the Pittsburgh Steelers, fans can expect the black tops to come out twice during the 2011 campaign.

Baltimore will be decked out in the black jerseys on Sunday, Oct. 2 against the New York Jets and Thursday, Nov. 24 when the San Francisco 49ers come to town.

Clubs must submit the color of their jerseys for the upcoming slate of games months before opening weekend, but the pant color can remain in flux each week.

In the past, the Ravens have worn both a combination of black tops and white pants and all-black uniforms.

The Ravens are 4-2 when outfitted in black from head to toe, including a 30-24 victory over the New Orleans Saints late last year.

At the time, Head Coach John Harbaugh said the all-blacks could return in the future.

“We could see them again,” said Harbaugh after the Saints win. “We’ll see. But it’s great that the fans are excited about our different looks. We’ve got some pretty great combinations.”

Baltimore boasts a 2-0 record when wearing black jerseys and white pants, which occurred once in 2010.

The Ravens also went with a purple jersey/black pant ensemble on Dec. 5, 2010 in a loss to the Steelers.
