The Ravens have placed running back Matt Lawrence on Injured Reserve, which gets them to the 80-player roster limit before Tuesday’s 4 p.m. deadline.
Lawrence returned to the field after a long absence, but has sat out recently. He went on IR due to a concussion.
It means Lawrence will miss his second straight full season.
After being a special teams contributor for eight games in 2009, Lawrence suffered a season-ending knee injury. He began 2010 on the Physically Unable To Perform list and the Ravens opted to keep him there (and save a roster spot) after the mandatory six-week period.
Baltimore previously trimmed its roster on Saturday by waiving nine players: guard Oniel Cousins, wide receiver Justin Harper, defensive tackle Cornell Banks, center Ryan Bartholomew, offensive tackle Brady Bond, wide receivers Rodney Bradley and Terrell Zachery, linebacker Anthony Leon and tight end Jonathan Stupar.
The final round of cuts to 53 players, must be made by Saturday.
