The Ravens made the signing of University of North Carolina defensive end Michael McAdoo official.

McAdoo slipped through the NFL Supplemental Draft on Monday, which allowed the Ravens to pick up the 6-foot-7, 245-pounder.

He arrived at Ravens headquarters to take a physical Tuesday.

With 29 tackles, 10 tackles for loss and 3 ½ career sacks, McAdoo is a versatile player who could fit into the hybrid defensive end/outside linebacker mold.

“The first thing I bring to the table is passion about the game,” McAdoo told The Carroll County Times before he was signed. “I’m very confident. I love the game of football. I’m somebody who works hard and goes hard every down. I can bring a lot to whatever team decides to pick me on Monday.

“I like both positions. I like rushing the passer. It really doesn’t matter. I just want to play football wherever they put me.”

The former Tar Heel was declared ineligible last year for academic misconduct. McAdoo filed a lawsuit against the school and the NCAA, but a judge denied his request to be reinstated for the 2011 campaign.

“I don’t know much about him,” said Head Coach John Harbaugh. “I’ve heard good things about him. I know he got caught up in that situation there in North Carolina. But, he’s supposed to be a good guy and a very talented guy. I’m looking forward to seeing him here.”

To make room for McAdoo, the Ravens moved defensive back Marcus Paschal to Injured Reserve.
