The Ravens missed two starters in Saturday’s training camp practice, as right guard Marshal Yanda and defensive tackle Terrence Cody say out.

Ravens Head Coach John Harbaugh affirmed that Yanda is dealing with back spasms, while Cody has an ankle issue.

Neither injuries were considered serious.

“Cody’s got an ankle that he’s dealing with. It shouldn’t be a major thing,” Harbaugh said. “Yanda’s got back spasms he’s dealing with so I’d rather not have those guys out here pushing it.”

Without Cody in the game, the Ravens had Brandon McKinney playing with the starters on defense.

And to account for Yanda, the Ravens placed rookie Jah Reid in at right tackle, with Oniel Cousins, who started at tackle in Thursday’s 13-6 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, slipping inside to guard.

Harbaugh said the Ravens have had conversations about moving Cousins to guard in the past.

“There may be a position that he’s more suited for,” said Harbaugh. “I think we talked in the off season about moving him to guard, but with Yanda coming back we decided to give him a shot at the right tackle spot. Maybe he is suited for that position. That’s what we’ll find out.

“That’s one of the great things about training camp, you have a chance to look at guys and see how they do.”

Rookie free agent running back Damien Berry also missed practice due to undisclosed reasons, but the Ravens did welcome back tight end Ed Dickson, cornerback Domonique Foxworth, offensive tackle Ramon Harewood and running back Matt Lawrence to the field after all had recently missed time.
