The Ravens have officially signed a couple big-bodied defensive tackles for 2011.

Backup Lamar Divens inked what was reportedly a low restricted tender and the team has confirmed that Pro Bowler Haloti Ngata inked his franchise tag, as his agent said he would Wednesday.

Divens, a former undrafted free agent, played in two games in 2010 and didn’t record any stats. He was inactive for the other 16 games.

The 6-foot-3, 343-pounder was healthy for an entire season for the first time in his three-year career. Divens spent time on Injured Reserve with shoulder and hip injuries in 2008 and 2009, respectively.

He has frequently individually worked out at the Ravens’ training facility this offseason and was impressive at training camp last year. Divens has good speed and strength for his size, and provides sound depth on the defensive front.

Ngata was originally given a non-exclusive tag, which meant he could have negotiated with other teams. But the run-stuffer, who also logged a career-best 5 ½ sacks last year, said he doesn’t want to play anywhere else.

The Ravens and Ngata are still committed to working out a long-term deal under a new collective bargaining agreement.

Even if franchise tags are altered under a new CBA, Ngata will still be a Raven in 2011. By signing the tender, he for now has a one-year deal.
