NFL work-stoppage or not, Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco is planning on getting together with his key receivers this offseason.

Flacco made a visit to the Ravens training facility in Owings Mills, Md., Wednesday with his father, Steve.  While there, he had lunch with Head Coach John Harbaugh and briefly chatted with Offensive Coordinator Cam Cameron, amongst other coaches.

When BaltimoreRavens.com caught up with him, Flacco said he already has spoken with tight end Todd Heap about a spring and summer meeting, and wants to bring Anquan Boldin and Derrick Mason into the mix.

“I haven’t talked to Anquan or Derrick about that yet, but I’ve talked to Todd about maybe going out to Arizona once everyone gets back together and settled in this offseason,” Flacco said. “Obviously, a lot of that will depend on if we get locked out or not.

“I’m definitely going to go out to see Todd at some point, and with the other guys, we’ll see if we come here or go there.  We’ll see what happens.”

Heap lives in Arizona during the offseason with his family, and so does Boldin.

Flacco doesn’t think it will take much persuasion to get Mason there, but Baltimore’s playmakers could also get together at a place closer to Ravens headquarters.

“Todd lives out there, and so does Anquan, so we’ll see what those guys think about it,” Flacco noted.   “We’re going to have to do something. Normally, we’d be here with a few of the guys. Todd usually stays at home and does his own stuff, but it will be important for us to do football things and grow our relationship outside of that.

“We need to make sure we’re coming back here on the same page.”

Flacco said offseason passing sessions will be critical for both offensive morale – and perhaps more importantly – instilling confidence with coaches.

He did the same thing last year when Boldin and Donte’ Stallworth were early additions to the receiving mix.

“It also helps the coaches trust that we’re working hard and will come back ready to go,” said Flacco.  “I think if we do that it brings up everybody’s confidence.

“I think we’re all going to enjoy doing it.”
