The Ravens will give Head Coach John Harbaugh a contract extension soon, said Team President Dick Cass Monday morning.

“We are working on an extension of John’s contract and expect to have it done soon,” Cass said.

Harbaugh has guided the Ravens to the playoffs for three straight seasons, becoming just the fourth head coach to accomplish such a feat since 1990. Only Harbaugh and former Dallas Cowboys Head Coach Barry Switzer won a playoff game in each of their first three years.

Harbaugh had one year left on his four-year deal he signed in 2008. There are no details yet on the length of the extension.

“I’m excited about being here,” Harbaugh said. “I really am grateful and appreciative to be the head coach of the Baltimore Ravens and to be associated with Baltimore football.

“Now with three years here and soaking this in and being a part of this fan base is the most amazing thing I’ve ever seen in my life. I love the Baltimore Raven fans.”
