According to a report by FoxSports.com, the Ravens have signed wideout James Hardy to a future contract.

A former second-round draft pick of the Buffalo Bills (2008), Hardy was cut on Sept. 4 and has been a free agent ever since.

Hardy, 25, owns impressive size, at 6-foot-5, 220 pounds, but only appeared in 16 games and caught 10 passes throughout his two-year career.

The former Indiana University basketball player also put in three years of service on the Hossiers’ football squad.  He became Indiana’s all-time leader in receiving touchdowns (36), yards (2,690) and receptions (186).

Hardy cannot participate in the playoffs.  Reserve/futures contracts are given to players who weren’t on an active roster at the end of the season and will be with their new team through offseason minicamps.
