Ravens Head Coach John Harbaugh isn’t the only Harbaugh in the news these days.
His brother, Jim, is being rumored as a head coaching candidate for the San Francisco 49ers, the Denver Broncos and at the University of Michigan.
Others believe he will stay at Stanford, where he has led the Cardinal to tonight’s Orange Bowl against Virginia Tech.
So does John have a prediction for where his brother will end up in 2011?
“I don’t know what he is going to do, I really don’t,” John said. “I thought I knew. I thought I had an idea, and I don’t think he is for sure.”
What was the idea?
“I’m not giving it to you,” John said with a smile. “Good follow-up, I walked right into that.
“I mean I don’t want to speak for him, but I think there is a chance he will stay at Stanford. I think there is a good chance he’ll stay there. I don’t know that for a fact, but I know this: He loves those players, loves them. And he loves the university. So, I wouldn’t be surprised at all if he stayed at Stanford. That’s not to say I think he’s staying there because I don’t know, but I wouldn’t be surprised.”
One thing is for sure; Harbaugh will be watching tonight’s Orange Bowl.
He said he would have attended the game in person if the Ravens got a first-round bye, but will instead be watching from the Owings Mills, Md. training facility.
“I want to be on [Owner] Steve’s [Bisciotti] plane and fly down there and go see it, you know?” Harbaugh joked.
