Ravens rookie defensive tackle Terrence Cody was hoping to make a Week 1 return.
While it looks like that won’t happen, Cody is optimistic about Week 2.
“I wish I could [play Week 1], but probably not,” Cody said. “I’ll be ready for the second game though.”
Cody recently had arthroscopic surgery on his knee to repair a slight tear in his meniscus. He had a loose body in his knee, which was causing swelling.
The Ravens’ second-round pick said doctors told him that the knee looks good and that he should be back in a week or week-and-a-half.
Cody hasn’t played since facing the Redskins on Saturday Aug. 21. The Ravens face the rival Cincinnati Bengals Week 2 on Sept. 19.
