The Ravens haven’t announced their official roster cuts yet, but NFL Network’s Jason LaCanfora has stated that safety Ed Reed will begin the season on the physically unable to perform list.
If true, that means Reed will miss at least the first six games of the season, with a chance to re-evaluate his status from Weeks 6-8.
Reed had hip surgery this offseason and has been rehabilitating with independent trainers in Atlanta.
Without Reed, the Ravens would start Tom Zbikowski at safety next to Dawan Landry.
