The Ravens placed linebacker Brendon Ayanbadejo and running back Matt Lawrence on the Reserve physically unable to perform (PUP) list Tuesday, getting them to the 75-man roster limit as mandated by the NFL.

On Monday, Baltimore moved center Daniel Sanders and defensive back Marcus Paschal on Injured Reserve, while cornerback Doug Dutch was waived.

By being placed on the Reserve Physically Unable to Perform List, Ayanbadejo and Lawrence are required to miss the first six weekends of the regular season.

After the sixth weekend – for the Ravens after the 10/17 game at New England – these two can return to practice with the team and can practice up to 21 days.

If they are not activated to the roster during this three-week span, they will again be placed on Reserve PUP for the remainder of the season.

Both Ayanbadejo and Lawrence had their 2009 seasons cut short due to injury.

Ayanbadejo, a three-time Pro Bowler, hurt his quadriceps in Week 4, just as he was rounding into one of the Ravens’ top linebackers in coverage, in addition to a special teams leader.

Lawrence played in eight games, logging an impressive 16 special teams tackles, before he was felled by a knee injury.

The Ravens now have four days – Saturday – before they must trim the roster to 53.
