Ravens fans who attended training camp at McDaniel College on Tuesday were brought down memory lane, as Baltimore Football Alumni Day brought out some Charm City legends.
Several members of the Baltimore Colts, including Hall of Famer Lenny Moore and former Pro Bowler Bruce Laird, and a few former Ravens, such as Super Bowl-winning defensive tackle Tony Siragusa were on hand.
Players mingled with fans and signed autographs, and in one of the more-poignant moments, presented the Ravens with a football signed by the six Hall of Fame Colts – Moore, Art Donovan, Geno Marchetti, Jim Parker, Raymond Berry and Johnny Unitas.
The rare football, which is one of only a few the group signed before Unitas’ death in 2002, was a symbol of appreciation for the way Ravens Owner Steve Bisciotti has supported Baltimore’s football roots.
“We want to honor the players who built up the love of football in Baltimore,” said Ravens President Dick Cass, who accepted the football on behalf of the team. “Steve has really embraced the legacy of the Baltimore Colts and recognizes our responsibility to continue to respect our tradition.”
