For the past few weeks, the World Cup has caught the eye of many football fans that typically wouldn’t have watched the other similarly-named game.
But as the international tournament comes to a close this Sunday with a title tilt between Spain and the Netherlands, those fans – and regular diehards of the game – can still get a taste of championship soccer.
On Saturday, July 31, European powers Inter Milan and Manchester City will take the pitch at M&T Bank Stadium for the second-consecutive year soccer has come to Baltimore.
Manchester City is a member of England’s elite Barclays Premier League and is making their first trip to the U.S., while Inter Milan competes in Italy’s top league, Italian Serie A.
And both teams feature several players that competed in the World Cup.
Man City has England’s Shaun Wright-Phillips, a fleet-footed midfielder, and Argentinean forward Carlos Tevez, who scored two goals against Mexico.
Inter Milan is leaded with three Brazilian national team members in Julio Cesar, their starting goalie, Lucio, known as one of the world’s best center backs, and Maicon, another talented defender.
