Ravens rookie Ramon Harewood agreed to a three-year contract, according to several reports.

While the team did not announce any agreement, such a move would leave Baltimore with only three draft picks left to sign – second-rounders Sergio Kindle and Terrence Cody and third-round pick Ed Dickson.

Harewood did not see much time in organized team activities because of a minor knee injury in the Ravens’ opening minicamp, but the sixth-rounder did impress with his size (6-foot-6-, 341 pounds) and intelligence.  The native of Barbados attended Morehouse College on an academic scholarship and had a grade point average better than 3.0 while studying to become an engineer.

Harewood still has a long way to go after only playing organized football for three years.

“He can knock down his side of the line of scrimmage,” said Ravens Director of College Scouting Joe Hortiz.   “He’s raw. He needs a lot of developmental work and technique, but he’s got foot speed. He ran a 5.08 at his pro day. He didn’t go to the Combine, and he got hurt when he ran on his pro day, but that’s another story. He’s got a lot of work to do, but he’s got the passion and drive to get better.”

Harewood should be 100 percent healthy by training camp, where he will likely begin working at right tackle.  He was able to participate in individual drills in the Ravens’ final few OTAs.
