The Ravens reached an agreement with exclusive rights free agent Jameel McClain Wednesday.
The inside linebacker made 30 tackles in 16 games played last season, including one start. He has played in every Ravens game since being an undrafted rookie free agent out of Syracuse in 2008.
McClain, 24, is competing with last year’s starter, Dannell Ellerbe, fellow 2008 draft pick Tavares Gooden and veteran Brendon Ayanbadejo among others for reps at the inside linebacker position.
An exclusive rights free agent is a player who is not under contract with less than three years of NFL experience. He has no rights to negotiate with another club.
