The Ravens officially signed running back Matt Lawrence, bringing the exclusive rights free agent back to Baltimore for another season.
Lawrence, 6-foot-1, 209 pounds, spent part of the 2008 campaign on the Ravens’ practice squad and joined the active roster last year.
The former rookie free agent out of Massachusetts became an integral part of Baltimore’s special teams unit, posting 16 special teams tackles before he was placed on Injured Reserve in Week 12 with a knee injury.
Lawrence has been rehabilitating the injury at Ravens headquarters in Owings Mills, Md., throughout the offseason.
Not only does Lawrence give the Ravens a special teams coverage standout, but he can also add depth to the backfield and contribute to the return game.
