The nearly four million Ravens Cash Fantasy tickets are sold out, marking the end of a triumph for the Maryland Lottery and Ravens.

The scratch-off, which was Maryland Lottery’s first $5 ticket with a million dollar prize, sold the most tickets in the lottery’s history when taking into account how long it was on the market (about five months).

“The Ravens Cash Fantasy scratch-off was a huge hit among lottery players and Ravens fans alike,” said Maryland Lottery Communications Director Carole Everett. “In fact, it was our best-selling $5 ticket ever.”

Billy Willis of Kent Island, Md. and Laura Aaron of Centreville, Md., shared one of the three $1 million prizes. The other two million dollar winners chose to remain anonymous, but the tickets were purchased in Baltimore City and Temple Hills, Md.

Part of the reason for the ticket’s success was that there was a litany of attractive second-chance prizes to win after the three grand prize winners were announced.

If you’re looking for tickets, make friends with Kimberly Feather of Pasadena, Md., who was pulled in the drawing for Ravens season tickets for life on Feb. 8. Other lucky fans won second-chance prizes such as 2010 season tickets, single-game tickets, a trip to an away game with the team and game-worn jerseys.

Ravens Cash Fantasy, which was the first Ravens-affiliated lottery ticket, was launched on Aug. 12. The scratch-off was sold all around the Baltimore area, at Ravens home games and even in Montgomery and Prince George’s Counties, making it the first Ravens-branded item sold in those counties.

Also note, if you’re still holding a winning ticket, you must redeem it by Sept. 2, 2010.
