Ray Rice and Le’Ron McClain partnered to lead the AFC to a game-tying field goal in the second quarter. Rice got five touches on the drive and McClain had one.
Rice showed his trademark quickness with a 9-yard gain along the left side, then followed that up with a 23-yarder up the middle for easily the longest rush of the game.
McClain, who has played the entire game, rumbled for three yards, then Rice churned out four more. Facing a fourth-and-1, Rice rushed off the right side for three yards, sprung by a key McClain block on Redskins linebacker Brian Orakpo.
Rice ran one more time for -4 yards when Vikings DE Jared Allen caught him dancing in the backfield. In the end, Dolphins kicker Dan Carpenter tied the game at 17 with a 30-yard field goal.
Through the first half, Rice has a game-high five carries and 35 rushing yards. He notched two receptions for three yards.
