Defense is Optional

There are different set of spoken and unspoken rules in the Pro Bowl.

It didn’t take long to remember that there isn’t much defense played in the Pro Bowl. The AFC is up 7-0 at 11:53 in the first quarter.

ESPN has almost all of the quarterbacks mic’d, so viewers could hear AFC starting quarterback Matt Schaub call “99 pump” in the huddle. It definitely worked because Schaub’s wide receiver Andre Johnson (also of the Texans) was wide open for a long touchdown reception.

Remember, in the Pro Bowl you’re not allowed to blitz and hitting the quarterback is taboo. Hard hits are frowned upon, so expect a high-scoring contest.

Le’Ron McClain made the tackle on the ensuing kickoff. First Raven contribution!
