Day 2: Our First Show

It’s a beautiful, sunny 70-degree day here in Bahrain. We started off our morning with a quick practice and headed to a base to meet and greet with some of the troops and have lunch with them. At this base, they have different daily cuisines and today was Afghani cuisine day.

We had a lot of fun getting to know some of the soldiers as we ate lunch with them and handed out flyers for our upcoming performance. After lunch, we quickly stopped by the hotel to grab our costumes and headed across the Gulf of Aden to another military base for our performance.

Upon our arrival we were given a tour of the base, where we got to go inside a bunker. We also got to see a very small chapel where the majority of the soldiers gather several times of week regardless of their religious views. This is a very important place for them since they are so far away from their family and friends, defending our freedoms.

Our performance was held outside in a sandy area under flood lights, which were attached to Hummers. All the soldiers cheered us on and seemed to really enjoy interacting with us during the show.

What a great second day of our tour! We can’t wait to see what’s in store for us next!

Love,

Your Baltimore Ravens Cheerleaders
