The Ravens signed seven players to reserve/futures contracts on Monday after their season finally ended with a 20-3 loss to the Indianapolis Colts last weekend.

Those signed are wideouts Eron Riley and Maurice Price, tight end Davon Drew, defensive end/linebacker Will VanDeSteeg, and offensive linemen Joe Reitz, Stefan Rodgers and Bryan Mattison.

Reserve/future contracts are deals that are signed for 2010, even though the upcoming season does not officially begin until March. Only players who were not on any NFL team’s active roster when 2009 concluded are eligible for such signings; if they were under contract, then they would remain so until March.

None of the players signed saw any live action last year, although Drew nearly did for the Miami Dolphins.  A fifth-round draft pick by the Ravens, he was signed off waivers by the Miami Dolphins to their active roster for two days before being cut and rejoining Baltimore.
