Don’t worry about me, Ravens fans, but we’re adding another writer to BaltimoreRavens.com.
Starting this Friday, longtime Baltimore Sun reporter John Eisenberg is joining the coverage team to give you another perspective on the site.
Eisenberg brings 28 years of newspaper experience as a sports columnist, with much of that time coming with the Sun. While working for the Sun, Eisenberg spent time covering the Ravens, among other teams and events, including the Super Bowl, Final Four, World Series and Olympics. He’s been all over.
And, Eisenberg has also written seven sports-themed books. Local fans of the Orioles might want to pick up his tome on the birds, titled “From 33rd Street to Camden Yards: An Oral History of the Baltimore Orioles.”
He has another one – “That First Season: How Vince Lombardi Took the Worst Team in the NFL and Set It on the Path to Glory” – coming in October of 2009.
That being said, Eisenberg’s not going to write any novels for BR.com.
He will supplement the current content on BaltimoreRavens.com by contributing two columns per week. One will run on Mondays following the Ravens’ most recent game, and another open-ended piece will run Fridays throughout the season.
This is something we’ve been wanting to do for a while – add an outside voice to look at the Ravens a little differently than someone (me) that is embedded with the team on a daily basis.
Eisenberg is already getting his hands dirty. He sat next to me in the press box during Sunday’s massacre of the Cleveland Browns and attended head coach John Harbaugh’s press conference on Monday.
I look forward to reading what he contributes in the future. I hope you do too.
