Ravens kicker Steve Hauschka may have wrapped up the kicking job by connecting from 33 and 46 yards in Baltimore’s 20-3 win over the Atlanta Falcons.
Rookie Graham Gano only attempted one extra point, and the former kicker/punter out of Florida State tried a punt that traveled a shaky 40 yards.
With the Ravens being only a day away from cutting their roster down to the 53-man limit, Hauschka can only leave his resume on the table.
“I think I performed well,” he simply said after the game. “It’s up to the coaches now.”
Hauschka was questioned after he missed a chip shot 27-yarder last week against the Carolina Panthers, but he quickly bounced back to nail another field goal in that game.
He’s made six of seven attempts, while Gano has gone 1-for-3. Still, head coach John Harbaugh would not officially name Hauschka the Ravens’ kicker.
“He came out there and made that last kick which was good,” Harbaugh said. “He also made a play with a bad snap in a situation that was not his fault. I thought it was a very encouraging day for Steven.”
