It was Baltimore Football Alumni Day at Ravens training camp in Westminster, Md., and former players from the Ravens and Baltimore Colts showed up in full force.

The Ravens invited a large contingent to McDaniel College to watch practice as VIPs and mingle with fans. And then there was the presence of Jonathan Ogden.

Former Ravens that were in attendance were wideouts Calvin Williams, Michael Jackson, defensive end Riddick Parker, punter Kyle Richardson and running back Tony Vinson.

Former Colts included Art Donovan, Jim Mutscheller, John Mackey, Rick Volk, Doug Eggers, Ordell Braase, Tom Matte, Stan White and Bruce Laird.

Ogden was actually in Baltimore for a set of meetings on Tuesday. He signed autographs for delighted fans, sat down for an interview with Adam Schein and Solomon Wilcots of Sirius NFL Radio, and even chatted with local Baltimore media.

Ogden admitted that he still feels pain in the big toe that ultimately caused him to retire prior to last season.

At 6-foot-9 and what looked to be more than his playing weight of 345 pounds, Ogden certainly puts a lot of pressure on his feet, but that hasn’t stopped him from maintaining a healthy golf game.

“Man, I’m a 10 [handicap] now,” he told reporters, according to the Baltimore Sun. “Three of my last four rounds have been 79s, and then all of a sudden, I blew up to 92. But that’s OK. It’s going to come back. That’s what happens with golf. It’s going to come back.”

Ogden said he could understand Derrick Mason’s brief retirement, but thought the veteran receiver would eventually return.

The future Hall of Famer hung up his cleats after a stellar 12-year career when he realized he couldn’t play at the level he was accustomed to.

“It wasn’t a tough decision for me,” Ogden said. “And I don’t have any regrets. I’m just working on my golf game and watching my son grow up.”

In addition, Ogden will participate in the Ravens’ Game Day radio show on WBAL 1090 this year.
